For more than 25 years my research has focused on the pathogenesis and prevention of atherosclerosis and clinical cardiovascular disease. I have lead the development of state-of-the art image processing techniques for angiographic and ultrasound images. Our laboratories have served as the core lab for numerous clinical trials and population based studies of progression of atherosclerosis and the non-invasive evaluation of endothelial function. I have been involved in MASALA as a co-investigator overseeing carotid ultrasound reading and analysis and provided general input on study design, data analysis and interpretation of study results.
